Always Say i am an Indian – Be proud

May 25, 2010

An American visited India and went back to America

Where he met his Indian friend who asked him
How did u find my Country?
The American said it is a great country

With solid ancient history
And immensely rich with natural resources.
The Indian friend then asked.
How did u find Indians??
Indians??
Who Indians??

I didn’t find or met a single Indian there in India.

What nonsense??
Who else could u met in India then??
The American said….
In Kashmir, I met a Kashmiri
In Punjab, a Panjabi
In Bihar, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Kerala,Bihari, Marathi, Marwadi, Bengali, Tamil, Malayali

Then I met
A Hindu,
A Muslim,
A Christian,
A Jain,
A Buddhist

And many, many, many more
But not a single Indian did I meet

Now, think how serious this joke is…

The day would not be far off when indeed we would
Become a collection of nation states as some
Regional anti-national politicians want…
Fight back –
Always say I am an Indian

We are proud and should be proud to be called Indian and we will call ourself Indian

Jai Hind.

Reduce Carbon Emission – Tips

January 15, 2010

Reducing your emissions is a vital part of combating climate change. We encourage everyone to be aware of their energy usage and its effects, and take steps to reduce this. By being more energy efficient at home, you can reduce your emissions and lower your energy bills by more than 30%.

Find given below some of the salient ones in our day to day life:

  • Adjust your air conditioner and heater thermostat when you go out and shut down your system when you are away for extended periods.
  • Turn off and unplug stereos, radios, TVs, and DVDs when you leave for holidays. These appliances have a stand-by function that uses energy even when they are turned off.
  • Always switch off your lights/fans/A/c when not in use.
  • Close doors to unused rooms trapping heating or cooling in rooms in use.
  • Consider switching to compact fluorescent lighting. Compact fluorescent light bulbs use about 75 per cent less energy than incandescent bulbs.
  • Insulating your walls and ceilings can save 20 to 30 percent of home/office cooling bills and reduce CO2 emissions by as much as 1 ton per year.
  • Clean all of your cooling appliances, making sure they are dust free. Energy is lost when cooling units have to work harder to draw air through dirty filters. Ensuring that your air conditioner filter is clean can save 5 percent of the energy used.
  • Recycle glass, metals, plastics and paper.
  • Plant shade trees and paint your house a light color if you live in a warm climate or a dark color if you live in a cold climate.
  • Put your refrigerator down to low power.
  • Select the most energy-efficient models when you replace your old appliances. Look for the Energy Star Label – your assurance that the product saves energy and prevents pollution.
  • Drive sensibly, these speeds are indicated in all vehicles. The faster and more aggressive you drive, the more petrol your car uses.
  • Dry clothes in sunlight, whenever possible avoid using dryer.
  • Take bucket bath instead of shower, it saves at least 30% to 40% water.

Tall Towers – India need to learn from dubai

January 7, 2010

When it comes to tall towers, look at the commitment and speed and accuracy with which this tall tower has been built. What a dedication , focus and marksmanship shown by the workers and building the world tallest and iconic tower.

Well you know most of the workers and engineers who were working on the iconic towers were indians. if indians can do wonders in Dubai, why not in India.

India needs infrastucture and such iconic towers and it will not be far when india can overtake china. Well we just need to dedicate ourself and work in the right direction.

Any success can be achieved if there is will and determination. if indian can show their will and determination and working ability outside india, why not india.

India you can do it and you will do it. its just a matter of time
